ERT (Electrical Resistivity Tomography)

Direct current resistivity method, also known as Resistivity method, is one of the main geophysical methods used in exploration geophysics. The aim of this method is to map the geological structure of the interior of the Earth according to its electrical properties (resistivity). The method is used in the solution of hydrogeology and engineering geology problems with mining, mineral, geothermal energy source and petroleum exploration. Especially since the 1980s, it has been widely used in the search of archaeological structures. ERT method; it has been widely used until today because its theory and its application are easy, its measurement instrument is simple and it gives effective results.

In high-tech technology, data is collected much faster with multi – electrode measuring devices and these measured data are interpreted in 2D and 3D. In this way, a 2D, 3D tomographic image of the interior of the underground can be obtained.
